Man United's Summer 2024 Transfer List

As of now, in the summer of 2024, Man United has only added two players. That's center back Leny Yoro from Lille who cost 52 million pounds and striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna who cost 36 million pounds. Both of these new players are very young, but they've already shown how good they are.

People think Yoro is one of the best young center backs in the U20 age group. Many big clubs want to sign him, even though he's only 18 years old. Real Madrid is the team that is most interested, and Man United had to pay a lot of money to get the French player to join. In Serie A 2023–24, Zirkzee is one of the best all-around strikers. He will help the Red Devils' attack in a big way.

Man United still wants to add a few more players, mostly midfielders and fullbacks, to the team that already has the two. They are interested in a lot of targets right now, but they haven't been able to finish any of them yet.

Man United, on the other hand, have let go of 8 players; 4 were sold and 4 were never signed again. When he moved to Marseille for 30 million pounds, striker Mason Greenwood brought the most money to MU. None of them brought the Old Trafford team much money.

The Best XI for Man United in 2024–25

The starting lineup for Man United in 2024–25 Premier League won't change much. Due to the drop in quality of the center-backs they already have, it's possible that only Yoro will get many chances to start out of the two new players they just brought in. At the same time, Zirkzee and Hojlund will have to fight hard to be the first player.

The Dutch striker will have more chances when Hojlund gets hurt and has to rest for about six weeks. He needs to make the most of this time with coach Erik ten Hag to get points. Now, this is not easy for someone who has never played in the Premier League before. Don't forget that Hojlund didn't score his first goal in this tournament until six months later.

In light of this, the Danish striker will likely still be starting in Man United's best team from last season. You can put Zirkzee in a reserve role or change it to a different one, like a striker behind Hojlund.

For the most part, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford will start on the wings. Garnacho made a lot of progress last year and should be starting. In the meantime, Rashford is getting better in pre-season friendlies. Fans want him to blow up like he did in the 2022–23 season.

Below, captain Bruno Fernandes and young star Kobbie Mainoo have already been picked to start. If it is not possible to find a new holding midfielder, Casemiro will be the only player left in the midfield trio.

Dario Dalot and Lisandro Martinez will play the two "hard" spots on defense. After coming back from an injury that kept him out for three months, new signing Yoro will play with Martinez. On the left side, Luke Shaw will start whenever he's healthy, and Harry Amass, a young great, can come off the bench. It's impossible to beat Andre Onana in goal.

In their pre-season friendly games, Manchester United didn't do very well, winning just two and losing three. Rangers (2-0) and Real Betis (3-2) were the teams they beat. Three losses were a 0-1 loss to Rosenborg, a 1-2 loss to Arsenal, and a 0-3 loss to Liverpool.

Manchester United lost 1-2 to Arsenal in the regular 90 minutes, but won on penalties (this is how the US friendly tournament works). It was still a loss for the Red Devils, though, and they got off to a bad start. Not to mention that Yoro and Hojlund were hurt and had to leave the team.

The first five games of the season for Man United are pretty easy. Fulham, who finished 13th in the Premier League last year, is the only team they have to play in their first game. Only Liverpool of the next four teams is a worry. The other teams, like Brighton, Southampton, and Crystal Palace, are just in the middle of the table.

Any team will be a worry for Man United, though, if they keep playing badly like they did last season. Fans of Man United hope that coach Ten Hag can get the team back on track so that they don't fall too far behind in the race for the top four spots during the early stages of the season.

Compared to last season, Man United's squad is not much different. If in the rest of the 2024 summer transfer window, the Red Devils cannot bring in a few more new players, it will be very difficult for them to compete for a place in the Top 4, let alone dream of the championship race.
