The Los Angeles home claims to be the world’s largest private residence, and the most expensive house the United States.
Known as The One Bel Air, the property, which is 10 years in the making, comes from film producer-turned-real estate developer Nile Niami, who initially hoped to sell it for a whopping $500 million, which would have made it one of the most expensive homes in the world.

A stunning four-acre lot in Los Angeles nicknamed "The One" is set to the break the record for the most expensive home ever sold in American real estate.
The One, a 105,0000-square-foot estate, located in the tony Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air. The plot, which is situated on top of a mountain in Bel Air.
The One sits on about 15,000 square metres and has a moat on three sides. It boasts panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, downtown Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Mountains.

The plot, which is situated on top of a mountain in Bel Air, has been listed on the market for $295million (£217.5m) by Aaron Kirman of Compass and Branden and Rayni Williams of The Williams and Williams Estates Group to sell the mega mansion.
The two firms will work together with Concierge Auctions for the sale of the property, which will be on the open market until being auctioned from February 28 and March 3.
If the property goes for the asking price, it will be the most expensive home sold in the country and the biggest online purchase ever. However, the home was once estimated at $500 million, making the current asking price seem like a bargain in comparison.

The One was built by developer Nile Niami of Crestlloyd LLC over the last 10 years and only recently completed; it has never been lived in and was placed into Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October.
Film producer-turned-developer Nile Niami has been embroiled in a legal battle between lenders, forcing the home into sale.
The project started 10 years ago and suffered delays and complications. Niami had to borrow over $US$82.5 million in 2018 from Hankey Capital to continue building.
In March 2021, Hankey served a notice of default, sending the property towards a foreclosure sale. Niami-related limited liability company Crestlloyd then filed for bankruptcy in October to keep the property from foreclosing.
The auction is a result of a Los Angeles court appointing Lanes Management (the other lender) as receiver, which is authorised to prepare the property for the sale to recoup the more than $US100m worth of loans and debt owed by Niami.

Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, downtown Los Angeles and San Gabriel Mountains, "The One" has 21 bedrooms, 42 bathrooms in addition to a nightclub, bowling alley and a fully-serviced salon just to name a few amenities at the stellar estate.
There is also a 40-seat movie theatre, cigar room and 100,000 bottle wine cellar to go with the seven water features, which includes an indoor swimming pool and a moat that wraps around three sides of the property.
It features luxury additions including five pools, its own nightclub and full-service beauty salon, a wellness centre and gym with Technogym equipment, a juice bar and a 930 square metre sky deck.
The mega mansion even has a private jogging track with a glass-walled view of the city and a home theatre seating more than 40 people. The compound’s main suite is the size of a large home at 465sqm. That room alone has a private pool and a massive walk-in-wardrobe.
