Key Dates for Liverpool's Premier League 2021-22 Fixtures

Liverpool will start the 2021-22 Premier League season with a game against promoted Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The fixture is currently scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 14 and is the reverse of Liverpool’s opening game of their 2019-20 title-winning season when they beat Norwich 4-1 at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will face Burnley in their first game at home, while Chelsea will visit Anfield before the end of August.

A trip to Leeds follows in September, while the Reds will meet champions Manchester City at home and arch-rivals Manchester United away in October.

The first Merseyside derby against Everton is at Goodison Park at the end of November, with the return date at Anfield in the latter stages of April.

The Christmas period will see Liverpool host Leeds on Boxing Day and then head to Leicester two days later before 2022 begins with a trip to Stamford Bridge to meet Chelsea.

Liverpool will again meet the two Manchester clubs in the space of three matches, while the season ends with a game against Wolves at Anfield on May 22.

When is the Merseyside derby in 2021-22?

Goodison Park will host the first Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton on November 30, 2021.

The Reds welcome the Blues to Anfield for the second Merseyside derby match of the Premier League campaign on April 23, 2022.

When do Liverpool play Man Utd in 2021-22?

October 23, 2021 is the first of two dates when Liverpool and Manchester United collide in the Premier League this season. That match will take place at Old Trafford.

The return fixture at Anfield will be played on March 19, 2022.

How many times have Liverpool won the Premier League?

Liverpool have been champions of England 19 times, trailing only rivals Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp finally ended the Reds' 30-year wait for the trophy in June 2020, but they remain one title behind the Red Devils.

And they have only won the Premier League ONCE, with the last of their titles before Klopp's men became kings coming in the old First Division in 1989-90.

Kenny Dalglish was manager back then, while John Barnes was the star - the winger scored 28 goals in that campaign.

Britain was very different in 1990.

Margaret Thatcher was in the final year of her 11-year Premiership, Mr Bean made his debut on TV and the Channel Tunnel was still being built.

Who won has won the most titles in England?

Well, it depends on who you ask.

After Liverpool won their sixth UEFA Super Cup title in 2019, beating Chelsea through a penalty shootout in Istanbul, Reds fans were quick to claim that they became the most successful club in English football.

In beating the Blues on that occasion, Liverpool lifted their 46th major trophy, with supporters believing that they had surpassed great rivals Manchester United, who, they said, have 45 major trophies.

While the Reds have now won 47 major prizes – including the league, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League/European Cup, the UEFA Cup/Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup – their count disregards one competition.

Liverpool's 47 major titles excludes the number of Community Shield titles they have won, which is the key point of the discussion – as Man Utd have a record 21 Community Shields to their name, compared to Liverpool's 15.
