The Hollywood Bowl, Southern California’s iconic open-air amphitheater perched under the Hollywood Hills, just unveiled a star-studded 2026 summer season

What’s most notable about 2026

“Celebrating Gustavo at the Bowl” (Aug 20–23)

Dudamel’s final Bowl season gets a four-night spotlight: Beethoven’s Ninth plus a world premiere by Michael Giacchino with lyrics by Amanda Gorman, then Dudamel’s Playlist (guest artists TBA), Foo Fighters with the LA Phil and YOLA, and A Musical Legacy (guests TBA).

Venue upgrades and “firsts”

The press materials also point to several on-site changes and debuts for 2026: opening of the Terri and Jerry Kohl Artists Pavilion, a new L-Acoustics sound system (including a more immersive surround setup), a reimagined Hollywood Bowl Museum exhibition, and the first season of artists performing on the newly named John Williams Stage.

Planning notes that matter

• If you want fireworks: you’ve got two major options—July 2–4 (Beach Boys + fireworks) and Sept 11–12 (OneRepublic fireworks finale).

• If you want film-with-orchestra nights: Wes Anderson, How to Train Your Dragon, Top Gun: Maverick, Amadeus, and the John Williams tribute anchor the “cinematic” lane of the season.

• If you want the Dudamel moment: Aug 20–23 is the core “can’t miss,” especially Beethoven 9 + world premiere and Foo Fighters with orchestra.

• If you’re building a multi-night trip: July is the densest stretch (classical, film music, jazz/salsa, pop/rock), while August stacks blockbuster genre-crossover nights (St. Vincent with orchestra, film concerts, Dudamel week, Smooth Summer Jazz).
