This year, organizers are a little more optimistic.

With the vaccination program underway and mass testing available, several events have put tickets on sale, confident that fans will be allowed to mosh, pogo and stage-dive with the risk of injury, rather than the disease, their main concern.

Unfortunately, events scheduled early in the season - most notably Glastonbury - have already had to cancel. Many have cited the inability to obtain cancellation insurance as a factor.

Others have moved to safer dates later in the summer, with a noticeable bottleneck over the August bank holiday weekend.

To help you plan ahead, here's what the biggest festivals have announced, with all information correct at the time of writing on 23 March 2021, BBC reported.

Latitude Festival: 22-25 July 2021

The Suffolk festival took to Twitter to reveal that planning was "well underway" for the festival this year and organizers couldn't wait to be "reunited" with festival-goers this summer.

Tickets for Latitude Festival are on sale now.

South Facing Festival is a brand new outdoor concert series coming to south London this August.

Created by some of the people behind festivals including Field Day, Winterville, Cross The Tracks, Wide Awake and Dimensions, South Facing Festival aim to deliver a highly sustainable event series, which reinvigorates the venue and surrounding area, and ultimately has zero environmental impact.
