The Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp defamation trial has been full of twists and turns, but one thing is for certain – the two former lovebirds don’t seem to hold much of a candle for each other anymore.
After being in several long-term romances in the public eye, Amber Heard has often been candid about her love life.

Butti and Heard were first spotted together in January of 2020 and then again at the L.A. Women’s March. Butti was frequently seen with Heard outside of the courtroom where the pair would walk hand in hand.
Unfortunately, like many of Heard’s other relationships, the two broke up because of the distance. Amber was also filming Aquaman 2 at the time in addition to getting a baby daughter via a surrogate.
“Amber is not trying to be low-key about it,” a source revealed at the time. “She feels comfortable kissing Bianca and holding her hands in public at this point. They started as friends and it turned into something more.”
The romance has seemingly fizzled out.
Heard is currently believed to be single.

There’s not much known about Heard’s relationship with art dealer Schnabel except that the two couldn’t quite get over their distance issues. They dated for less than a year.
Schnabel has been linked with a bevy of young actresses over the years, including Heidi Klum, Demi Moore, Liv Tyler and Elle Macpherson.

These two met on the set of the movie Machete Kills in 2013. They remained friends but things reportedly heated up when Heard finalized her divorce from Depp in 2016.
Musk had just divorced his wife Talulah Riley and was single at the time, so the timing worked out well for both of them. Musk pursued Heard handily, but she was initially not interested. He also offered to provide her with around-the-clock security when she was thinking about getting a restraining order against Depp.
Heard shared a photo of the two in 2017 on her Instagram page with her hand on Musk and red lipstick marks on his cheek.
The pair broke up in August of 2017. Musk said it was due to their demanding work schedules. Heard said she wanted to stay quiet about the whole thing.

The pair were spotted out and about in New York City the following month, and looked very loved up, however they called it off after less than a year of dating. The split was “because of long distance,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. Vito was previously linked to German supermodel Heidi Klum, who he dated for three years.

Following her split from Van Ree, Heard started dating Depp in 2011 after they met on the set of The Rum Diary. After three years of dating, the pair exchanged vows but the Pineapple Express star filed for divorce one year later. Amid their breakup, Heard accused Depp of domestic violence and obtained a temporary restraining order against him.
Depp, for his part, denied the allegations, however, the former couple’s ups and downs continued to make headlines. Two years after Depp and Heard reached a divorce settlement, the Texas native penned a 2018 op-ed about her past history with abuse for The Washington Post.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star, who was not named in the essay, sued his ex-wife for defamation due to a reference about an incident that occurred two years prior to publication. Depp argued that Heard’s writing affected his career in Hollywood.

Heard and Delevingne have long been rumored as a couple even if the pair has never confirmed a relationship to the public. There are reports that Heard had an affair with Delevingne during her marriage to Depp, however.
Amber was linked to British model Cara Delevingne in 2016, amid her messy split from Johnny. It was first reported in September by The Sun on Sunday that the pair were getting close while Amber was in London shooting a movie. “They have been seen at the hotel loads and are always very giggly and thick as thieves, out until the early hours,” a source told the outlet. In October they were spotted grabbing a coffee, and were photographed in December leaving Rihanna‘s party together. Nevertheless, the pair never confirmed their rumored romance.
Amber Heard and Tasya Van Ree – 2008 to 2012
Around the time that Heard’s career started getting some heat with appearances in the movies Never Back Down and Pineapple Express, she dated photographer Tasya Van Ree.
Heard and the photographer previously dated from 2008 to 2012. During their courtship, Heard legally changed her last name to Van Ree and later restored her birth name after their split.
In 2009, Heard was arrested but not charged for domestic violence after an altercation with Van Ree at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The painter claimed in a statement to Us Weekly in June 2016 that the situation was “misinterpreted.”
“Amber was wrongfully accused for an incident that was misinterpreted and over-sensationalized by two individuals in a power position. I recount hints of misogynistic attitudes toward us which later appeared to be homophobic when they found out we were domestic partners and not just ‘friends.’ Charges were quickly dropped and she was released moments later,” Van Ree told Us. “It's disheartening that Amber's integrity and story are being questioned yet again. Amber is a brilliant, honest and beautiful woman and I have the utmost respect for her. We shared 5 wonderful years together and remain close to this day.”
The couple had a reportedly tumultuous relationship and were in a domestic partnership before gay marriage was legal in the United States. While they broke it off in 2012, they still remain close.
