Best tips and hints for playing Five Nights at Freddy's:
Keep the doors open
The doors are the largest waste of power in the entire game. Sure you could keep them closed at all times to ward off enemies but that'd defeat the purpose of the game. Not to mention, doing so will barely get you through an hour before you completely run out of power.
Instead, keep the doors open at all times until you actually hear a character approaching or see one in the doorway. Then slam them shut and leave them shut until they disappear.
Watch out your power
Every night you start with a full energy bar. The cameras, lights and doors all cost power. Foxy also takes some power when he knocks on your door. If he does this 2 times in one night, you’re going to have a hard time! - From Cliqist.

Save lights
Five Nights at Freddy's is immensely reliant on auditory cues. If you run around checking cameras and flipping on lights when you don't need to, you'll never have enough power to get through the night. Instead, when you think you hear something approaching, quickly tap the lights on and off to check the doorways. On the right side door, you can sometimes see something approaching in the shadows before it gets to the doorway. This means you can bypass using the lights altogether and just shut the door.
Using headphones
Paying careful attention to subtle audio cues is a vital survival technique in Five Night’s at Freddy’s 2. Every clang, every thud, will tell you if they’re about to attack – so you’d better invest in some good headphones for audio accuracy.
And on the subject of phones, pay attention to the messages left by your boss at the beginning of each night. Their hints may just save your life. - According to Pocketgamer.
Listen before looking
Again, auditory cues are key. It's alsowhy headphones make a huge difference. You can hear the feedback coming from both left and right channels separately which tells you exactly what side you are facing an attack from. This makes it much easier to conserve power when you aren't guessing what door to slam down.
Learn how all your enemies move
Enemies move differently at Freddy's. Learning early on how they move will get you further, faster. In detail, all the moves are given by Ign.
The Puppet (Marionette)
To keep The Marionette away make sure to go to the Prize Room Cam and wind up the music box every once and a while. If you see a small triangle with an exclamation point in the bottom right of the screen try to go wind the music box up as soon as you can.
Mangle
Check your vents and the hallway. If she is in the hallway treat her like Foxy and keep flashing your light at her. If she is in the vents put your mask on and wait for that thumping noise to cue when she has left your vents. If she is on your ceiling, you will need luck on your side, because she can attack anytime after you put up and then lower your monitor.

The Freddy in the yellow suit (better known as Golden Freddy) is a mystery/Easter egg. When you see Golden Freddy's poster colored in the West Hall Corner (camera 2B), and you put down the camera he will appear. When he does, just go back into camera again and he will be gone. He has a 1 in 100,000 chance (rolled every second) whenever you click on cam 2B to appear. He can only appear once per night.
Golden Freddy can even enter your room if both doors are closed by the time you see his poster on the wall. He can't appear in any other way in normal gameplay - however, he does jumpscare you if you put the AI. Levels to 1/9/8/7 in the Night 7/Custom Night setting (PC v1.13 and above) and will crash (PC/Mobile) your game or go back (console ports) to the menu, which is noted in Freddy-fanon.fandom.
Breathe Keep filling those lungs; In, and out, in and out. You might need to find a paper bag to do it, that’s fine. You are, after all, playing a game of peek-a-boo with freakish animatronics who don’t understand humanity’s inability to exist without its frontal lobe. But for the love of God just breathe. - Noted by Pocketgamer. |
