The Gunners finished eighth in the table last season and fans are expecting major improvements as Mikel Arteta continues his squad rebuild
Arsenal kick off their 2021-22 Premier League season with, on paper at least, a kind fixture against newly-promoted Brentford.
Things quickly become tricky for the Gunners, however, with their second match a home date against Champions League winners Chelsea.
It doesn't ease up after that either, as they then must travel to face Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad.
Key Dates for Arsenal Premier League 2021-22 Fixtures
*Mikel Arteta's side, who finished a disappointing eighth in the Premier League table, then have a London derby at the Emirates against European champions Chelsea on August 21, before going to current champions Manchester City on August 28.
*A trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Saturday, September 11 is followed by the visit of fellow promoted side Watford on Saturday, September 18 to conclude our first five fixtures.
*Arsenal's first north London derby comes on the weekend of September 25 at home to Tottenham, while the return fixture will be on the weekend of January 15 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
*Arsenal face Liverpool and Manchester United in quick succession in late November, while our festive schedule sees us go to Norwich on Boxing Day, before hosting Wolves on December 28 and then Manchester City on New Year’s Day.
*Arsenal's Boxing Day fixture is at newly-promoted Norwich, they will host Manchester City on New Year's Day, and their final game of the season is at home to Everton on May 22.
*The run-in sees us welcome Leeds to Emirates Stadium on May 7, before a trip to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle.

Arsenal team newsThe north Londoners have a number of injury worries for Friday night’s game with several stars still in the treatment room. Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes will both be absent against Brentford – with the former sustaining an ankle problem during the defeat to Chelsea. Eddie Nketiah is also suffering from a similar problem from that game and the Premier League opener is thought to come too soon. Brazilian Gabriel, 23, is still nursing a knee injury that kept him out of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The defender’s compatriot Gabriel Martinelli was part of that gold-medal winning squad and won’t link up with Arsenal for weeks yet. Joe Willock is another player that is unlikely to be in the squad to face Brentford as his £20million-plus move to Newcastle edged closer. But more positively, there could be competitive debuts for new signings Ben White and Albert Lokonga – both of whom started against Spurs. Bukayo Saka is set to feature as well after he made his Arsenal return as a late substitute on Sunday. |
