After much anticipation from the fans, the World Cup 2022 officially kicked off. And to celebrate one of the most epic events in the nation's history, host Qatar will host an opening ceremony that promises to be explosive like never before.
The World Cup opening ceremony will get underway from 3pm UK/GMT, an hour before the match kicks off.
Soon after, the opening match for the 2022 World Cup will be played between Qatar and Ecuador. The match kicks off at 4pm UK/GMT time/11:00 am ET/ 9:30 pm IST - today 20/11 at Al Bayt Stadium.

The sides last met in 2018, when Qatar won 4-3 in a friendly in Doha.
Before the match took place, there were quite a few scandals related to rumors that the host Qatar had fixed the match.
However, in recent statements, the FIFA representative confirmed that there would be no cheating in such a huge event as the World Cup. The most powerful football agency on the planet also affirmed that it will severely punish any national team that acts to make the "king sport" become unfair.
Regarding the situation of forces, both hosts Qatar and Ecuador have the strongest squad in hand. Although considered to have a better quality of personnel, the team from South America is not in good form.
