Man with the baseball caps during talks Russia - Ukraine
During negotiations with the Russian delegation, sitting in the middle of the Ukrainian team was a man who always wore a baseball caps.
The man wearing a cap with a different style of dress was not a random choice among the Ukrainian delegation.
This man is Davyd Arakhamia, leader of the Servant of the People party, the ruling party in Ukraine.
The Servant of the People Party is the political party in Ukraine with 241 seats out of 450 in the Ukrainian Parliament. Mr. Arakhamia was elected party leader on August 29, 2019.
Who is the Chief Ukrainian Negotiator Arakhamia - Biography, Politician Career
Mr. Arakhamia was born in 1979 in Sochi, now part of Russia, and later moved to Georgia. In 1992, due to the conflict in Abkhazia, Mr. Arakhamia moved to the city of Nikolaev in Ukraine with his parents and began to engage in business.
Mr. Arakhamia is known as the founder of IT company Monster Template. When conflict broke out in the Donbass region, Mr. Arakhamia set up an organization to raise funds for the army.
In August 2014, Mr. Arakhamia became an advisor to the governor of the Mykolaiv region. Two months later, he became an adviser to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and Chairman of the Voluntary Council of this ministry.

Mr. Arakhamia then joined the Servant of the People party, ran for the National Assembly of Ukraine, and became the right-hand man of incumbent President Zelensky. Not long after, he was entrusted with the task of leading the party.
During the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, Mr. Arakhamia was part of a close group that closely followed Zelensky in Kiev.

On February 28, Mr. Arakhamia was a member of Ukraine’s peace negotiation delegation to Belarus. Why Arakhamia refuses to take off his baseball caps?

David Arakhamia said that he specially put on a baseball cap for negotiations and will continue to wear it at the 3rd round.
“In peacetime, I don’t wear baseball caps,” said the head of the Servant of the People faction of Ukraine’s ruling party. David Arakhamia said, according to FoxNews – "But since we have to shake hands and follow a certain protocol, I decided to use baseball capto show a real relationship to this country".

He also said that he would not stop wearing a baseball cap “until he achieves peace.” But why did the Mingrelian (the nationality of Arakhamia. Mingrelians are often considered as a sub-ethnic group of the Georgian people – ed. note) not come to the negotiations in a sheepskin hat or their national bondage (wool headdress), but in a baseball cap?
Arakhamia in Belarus reminded me of the leader of Ichkeria Zelimkhan Yandarbieva (killed in 2004 in Doha), when he came to the Kremlin for talks to Boris Yeltsin in papa. Before him, he did not take off his hat at the negotiations and Dzhokhar Dudayev (destroyed in 1996).
It is known that the baseball cap is a purely American baseball hat, which allows you to receive and hit the ball under the scorching sun. But what does Mingrelian have to do with American baseball players?
A Chechen hat can only be worn with your head up, otherwise it will fall. Here’s a baseball cap, whatever.
Of course, you should not look for horns under Arakhamia’s baseball cap. Experts say this Ukrainian negotiator with Mingrelian roots is the next version of the scoundrel and adventurer Mikheil Saakashvili, who was reflashed by the American intelligence services after they caught the Ukrainian “Servant of the People” in a major fraud in the United States.
With his baseball cap, Arakhamia simply emphasizes his servile readiness to accept and pass “any ball” from the American team. But it seems that he is not yet aware that this is not his game, and a baseball cap may not help either.
