This originated from Japan and it’s an anti-aging procedure that involves snails being put on someone’s face. The snails are left to slither around and leave their slime all over the skin. The slime is said to be full of antioxidants and copper peptides that repair damaged skin cells. The gross mucus substance is also known to significantly reduce wrinkles. If you thought snails are disgusting, just know there are people who put them on their faces.

Women are always seeking the hottest beauty treatments, but this fire facial performed in Chinese beauty salons literally turns up the heat. Therapists use open flames to regenerate cells for a youthful appearance. A towel soaked in alcohol is applied to the face and is then set on fire. The flames are put out when they become too hot and unbearable. This procedure is said to treat wrinkles and sagging, and also burn fat.

8. Bee Sting Facial

No, this facial does not entail covering your face with a swarm of bees. This anti-aging treatment enlists bee sting venom as its main ingredient and is dubbed the organic alternative to Botox. The name was coined by reality TV star Kim Kardashian and it best describes this procedure because it uses vampires’ favorite meal – blood. The blood is said to keep people young forever. This very low temperature is said to shut off blood supply in several body organs that then causes blood to rush around the body producing the happy hormone serotonin. The process also helps to treat sport injuries and general fatigue. People known to be fans of this procedure are actress Pamela Anderson and former British Premier Tony Blair.
