If you live in Atlanta, Georgia, or you're considering putting down roots there, you're in luck! This city ranks #1 in Amerisleep's study, with healthy lifestyle costs totaling about 9.7% of the destination's typical salary (and healthcare costs totaling 8.27% of the average monthly salary).
Factors such as healthcare insurance costs, price of a gym membership, price to visit a private doctor, fruit and vegetable costs, were all considered in the new study.
Atlanta came first as the cheapest city for a healthy life and the best option for British expats.
The vibrant city of Georgia has the lowest costs including gym membership or private doctors appointments.
In the second position was San Francisco with one of the cheapest healthcare costs in the US.
Another beautiful city in California, San Jose, came in third as the cheapest city to stay healthy in the US.
The average monthly gym membership in San Jose is $60 (£44) and the price to rent a tennis court for one hour is just $16.40 (£11).
Seattle came in fourth followed by Denver, Colorado.
The most expensive city to maintain a healthy lifestyle in America is Baton Rouge, in Louisiana.

Top 10 Cheapest Places to Live in America With Good Weather
A recent study from PropertyShark ranked the cheapest places to live in America with the best weather. In order to be considered for the list, homeowners needed to spend no more than 30% of their earnings on a monthly housing payment. For weather, PropertyShark factored in the number of days with clear skies, the number of days with extreme temperatures (above 90º or below 32º) and the number of rainy and windy days.

Coming in at the top of the list: Charlotte, North Carolina, which ranks high thanks to affordable housing, a moderate cost of living, high-paying jobs, a vibrant community and year-round mild weather. In fact, the state of North Carolina swept the list, with three cities in the top five spots. Raleigh ranks number two, while Greensboro comes in at number five.
When it comes to housing, Charlotte has a median income of $62,817 and a median home sale price of $298,296, resulting in an affordability index of 29% (in other words, residents only need to spend 29% of their income on housing). Raleigh—on the other hand—has a median income of $67,266 and a median home sale price of $230,250, putting it at a lower affordability index of just 21%.
