1. First game: Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace – August 12
Sheffield United's home opener against Crystal Palace will mark the start of the team's first Premier League season. However, the Blades' first six games will see three teams in the top eight.
Paul Heckingbottom's team will aim to allay any early fears of relegation to the second tier by getting off to a strong start in their return to the top flight after placing second in the Championship the previous season.
2. Second game: Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest – August 19
The Blades will be pleased with a home game against Palace, who finished 11th last season, and a trip to Nottingham Forest in the second game should not put too many fans off.
3. Third game: Sheffield United vs Manchester City – August 26
Tougher tests await as they prepare to host Premier League champions Manchester City in their third game, before traveling to Tottenham and then hosting a superb Newcastle side to round out their first six games.
