La Liga has confirmed the schedule for the 2024–25 season.
Champions Real Madrid and Real Mallorca played in one of the most exciting games of the first weekend. In the meantime, Barcelona goes to Valencia.
The first league match between Real Madrid and Barcelona this season will be in October.
La Liga today released the schedule for all of their games this coming season. Last year's champions Real Madrid will start their defense of their title with a game away at Mallorca. Atletico Madrid, a team from the same city, will play Villarreal, and Barcelona will also start the season away, against Valencia. Betis is where Girona will start their season.
October 27, 2024, will be the first big league match between Real Madrid and Barcelona. It will take place in the Spanish capital.
The second El Clasico of the season will happen at the end of the season, on May 11, 2025, when Barcelona hosts Real Madrid. The first city derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid is set for September, and Atletico will host the second game in February.
Basque derby fans of Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao will have to wait until November for the next game. The next game is set for May 4.
Real Madrid plays Real Sociedad at home on the last day of the season, while Barcelona travels to Athletic Club, Atleti’s trip to Girona.
La Liga 2024/25 Special Schedule: Opening weekend
The season starts on the weekend of August 18th, with Barcelona's trip to Valencia being the most important game. It will also be Hansi Flick's first league game as manager. Atletico Madrid plays Villarreal away on the road at the Ceramica, while Real Madrid starts their title defense away at Mallorca.

The dates for El Clasico are also known. On MD11, Barcelona will travel to play Real Madrid. The return leg, which is likely to take place at the newly renovated Spotify Camp Nou in May, will be on MD35.
