Director James Cameron has managed to fix the problems that have existed since the first installment in Avatar: The Way of Water. The trailers show the director focusing more on plot elements, building characters and limiting the abuse of technology in the production process.
Before that, Avatar (2009) received a lot of criticism for the lack of depth in the character development and plot. Most of the highlights that attract the audience come from the culture of the Na'vi ethnic group. However, this group of characters is not fully exploited because the main action takes up most of the time in the film. However, Avatar 2 promises to invest more in character development. Introduce fans to the other Na'vi tribes that inhabit the planet Pandora.
Avatar: The Way of Water follows from the first film as Jake Sully and his family fight to protect Pandora from re-occupation from humanity. The film will focus more on the life of Jake Sully and his family members. The Avatar sequel will spend most of the time exploring the relationship between Sully's children Neteyam, Lo'ak, Kiri and the Metkayina tribe.
Accordingly, the Metkayina reef tribe is director James Cameron's way of overcoming the problem of time division between humans and the Na'vi. The introduction of the tribe from the ocean allows Avatar 2 to explore more deeply the interesting features of the life and culture of the Na'vi. Besides, the story of the goddess Eywa, revered by the Na'vi people, will also be more meticulously cared for by Cameron in the sequel.

However, Avatar 2 still invests a huge amount of money in CGI technology and effects because the invested image contributes to the success of the brand. However, director James Cameron tried to balance the work in the sequel while focusing on the content while combining post-processing and using film technology to a limited extent.
