Mrs. Rinehart was raised in the isolated and untamed Pilbara region of North West Australia, where she shared her parents' large sheep and cattle properties. She was born in Perth on February 9, 1954. She subsequently went to St. Hilda's Anglican School for Girls in Perth for boarding school starting at the age of eight.

Hope and Lang (especially Lang) adored Gina because she was the only child. Gina inherited Lang's mining fixation. She occasionally accompanied her father to various international gatherings.

Gina pursued her studies in Economics at the University of Sydney. She only persisted for a year, though, before realizing that her similarities did not match those of her classmates. After leaving school, she started working for her father and became well-versed in the Pilbara iron-ore sector.

She wed Englishman Greg Milton in 1973 while they were both employed at Wittenoom. After separating in 1979, the couple got divorced in 1981. Two children survived the couple.

She had two children from her second father and married corporate lawyer and Arco executive Frank Rinehart in Las Vegas in 1983.

After Gina revealed her marital status, Gina and Lang started to argue. Lang suspected that Gina's second husband, Frank Rinehart, who passed away in 1990, was the cause of the family conflicts that transpired within the house.

She battled with her stepmother Rose over Lang's estate for roughly 11 years after her father passed away in 1992. She claimed Rose had some sort of role in her father's demise. Later on, though, it was determined that Lang passed away naturally. At the conclusion of the protracted battle, Rinehart kept complete control over Hancock Prospecting and its steadily growing royalty stream, while Rose kept a few assets, including Prix d'Amour.

Gina assumed the role of Chairman of Hancock Prospecting Pty Limited (HPPL) and the HPPL Group of Companies in 1992, following the passing of her father.

She has only concentrated on developing the company's undeveloped deposits, obtaining funds through joint venture partnerships, and converting the leases into mines that generate revenue in the years that have followed her ascent to the HPPL board.

She obtained the Roy Hill tenements in 1993. Since the middle of the 1990s, Gina has been the main driving force in Australian mining.

She has been the driving force behind international joint ventures between HPPL and businesses in South Korea, India, and other Asian nations since the early 2000s. Her largest source of wealth is the Roy Hill mining project, which began exporting its products to Asia in 2015.
