UK's weather forecast
Tonight & January 31
As low pressure crosses southern England it will bring strong winds and wet weather across much of Ireland and Wales as well as central, eastern, and southern England on Saturday. The rain increasingly turning to sleet and snow as it meets colder air across central Ireland, Wales, and the Midlands. Several centimeters of snow is likely over high ground and there may even be some at low levels in these areas. Colder and drier across the far north of England and Scotland although always a fair amount of cloud. High temperatures at 2 to 6C for most, 8 to 10C through the far south of Ireland and into the West Country.
Saturday night's area of precipitation clears to the south through the evening as a transient ridge of high pressure builds across the UK from the north. This leads to a mostly dry night for much of the UK through a few wintry showers affect far northeastern areas. A cloudier night for Ireland with low pressure lying just to the west. Outbreaks of rain, sleet, and snow spread in from the west through the wee hours reaching most parts of Ireland through Sunday morning. Overnight lows widely at -5 to 0C, 3 or 4C in the far southwest of Ireland,
As for tomorrow, a weak ridge of high pressure stays across the British Isles on Sunday giving widespread frost and ice patches to start. This should bring a drier and colder day to all. There will be some bright or sunny spells especially at first. A few snow showers affecting northern and eastern Scotland as well as northeast England. Outbreaks of rain, sleet, and snow spread across Ireland and into the southwest of the UK. The winds will be increasing here too. A general increase of cloud across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland throughout the day. Highs around 1 to 5C for many, but 10C in the Isles of Scilly and 8C in southwest Ireland.
Outlook for February 1 - 2
On February 1, a widespread frost on Monday morning. High pressure will be to the east with low pressure to the west of Ireland. Breezy across Ireland and rather cloudy with some outbreaks of patchy rain. Most of the UK should be dry with broken cloud and the best of any sunshine in the east. Rain moves into the far southwest later. A cold day with highs at 1 to 6C for most, though southwestern parts of the UK and Ireland could see highs of 8 to 10C.
On February 2, low-pressure west of Ireland will be pushing fronts east on Tuesday. This is going to be bringing heavy periods of rain and strong winds through many areas. A period of snow could affect northern England and southern Scotland as the rain meets colder air. Drier in northern Scotland and becoming drier in Ireland as well as southwest England and Wales. Highs at 2 to 6C in northern areas, 8 to 12C elsewhere.

UK braces for coldest days of winter in TWO WEEK Icelandic freeze
Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Andy Page said: “Over the next few days we continue to see a division between milder conditions in the South West with much colder air to the north and east.
“The boundary between the two air masses will flex north and south bringing the potential for snow along the boundary between the two. There is a weather warning for snow in place on Saturday for London and South East England, Wales, and the West Midlands.
Page said: “Tomorrow begins with a weather front moving north from the South West triggering rain and snow warnings. “In southern parts of Cornwall and Devon heavy rain will feature, particularly on higher ground. However, rain is likely to turn to sleet and snow across Wales and central England during the morning and then some parts of south and south-east England before it clears southwards again.”
From Sunday, there is the risk of freezing rain as temperatures drop yet further due to another weather system. Met Office Meteorologist Jason Kelly said: “On Sunday we see another weather front bringing rain and snow east and north across the UK, but the most significant event in the forecast is a feature from late Monday evening, which threatens to bring rainfall across a swathe of the UK from the south and west.
