The Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum is the presidential library and resting place of Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States (1945–1953). It is one of just 14 presidential libraries in the country and the first presidential library to be created under the provisions of the 1955 Presidential Libraries Act.
As of July 2019, the museum closed to the public to undergo a major, $25 million renovation. The project will see the installation of a new permanent exhibition and upgrades to the visitor experience, including improved storytelling, enhanced interactive and technology-based experiences and a comprehensive educational strategy, according to Independence Missouri.
