What are the Top Annoying Habits To Avoid In Public?
1. Staring
Although looking someone in the eye while talking to him or her is considered good manners, staring at someone is not. When you catch your gaze fixed on a stranger or making someone uncomfortable by staring, make a concerted effort to blink and look away. If the person catches you staring, offer a friendly smile before turning your attention elsewhere.
2. Talking Too Loud
Some people seem to talk at a high volume all the time. The reason could be that someone close to them is hard of hearing, or maybe they don't realize how loud they are.
At any rate, check your volume. Remember that most people can hear just fine, so practice talking more softly unless the other person asks you to speak up.
3. Queue Jumping

We often see people jumping the queue to be ahead in the line. Queue jumping is the practice of pushing into the queue to get served before your actual turn. This should be completely averted. It is an unfair way of taking precedence.
You are taking someone’s chance which they would have got after waiting for an exceptionally long hour.
4. Being Overfriendly
Having a general conversation with someone in the line is okay. Exchanging a few words is considered to be basic manners. But constantly talking to someone may irritate them. The person may not be interested in talking to you and find you annoying.
Remember you are just in a Public queue with random strangers do not start looking for friendships. Not every place is an opportunity to befriend new people.
5. Throwing Wrappers
You must have noticed many people dropping wrappers on the ground while standing in the queue. Such behaviour is not only a negative impression but it is also affecting our country and our society.
Many people eat chocolate wafers and through wrappers on the street, such behaviour is affecting our society which is indirectly affecting us.
6. Talking With Your Mouth Full

Talking with a mouthful of food is just plain rude and a sign that you need to learn some table manners. Chew, swallow, and then talk. If you are asked a question, indicate with a gesture that you'll answer after you swallow.
Don't rush. If the other person really wants to hear what you have to say, he or she can wait.
7. Drinking Too Much
We're not talking about coffee, tea, water, or soda. When you are in a social situation that involves drinking alcohol, avoid overindulgence. Maybe it helps you feel more social, but it can also cause you to say or do things you'll later regret.
Most of the time, you won't get a do-over, so stop before you feel the buzz. If you drink too much and make a fool of yourself, you might find yourself falling off the host's next guest list.
8. Popping or Cracking Your Gum
Bubble gum is supposed to be blown into bubbles, right? And when gum forms air pockets when you chew, it pops. Maybe so, but chomping, popping, and cracking your gum is annoying to those around you. If you can't chew gum without popping it, don't chew it in public.
9. Making Inappropriate Comments

If you suspect you are one of them, stop and think before you open your mouth, even if someone is wearing shoes that clash with her dress. You don't want to embarrass yourself or anyone else by constantly making rude comments.

10. Smoking
This has been said over and over but many smokers still have no clue why they should stay away from the general public when smoking.
The health effects are known universally and there is no need to explain much. Just stop it!
11. Yelling At Kids
Some mothers just don’t realise that they are travelling or they are walking on the street. Even if they are standing in the queue they just start yelling at kids and some even spank. Be careful about your actions and behavior. Because you have no idea how sensitive your children are.
Yelling at them or spanking them in public can make them embarrassed. Hence, avoid yelling at kids especially in public places. That not only irritates the public but your child too.

Doing it in a public queue may disgust the people around you. Yes, mucus is probably a good thing for your bodies but how you choose to deal with its excesses is in public is the problem.
When at pain to clear the accumulation of phlegm in your nasal passages, use a tissue or hanky. Do not snort and swallow your dirt when in the company of other people. It is gross and disrespectful.
13. Pimple popping!
And then there are the pimple popping fellows who happily squeeze young pimples and whiteheads. This they do oblivious of everyone else around them. Please do it in privacy if you must, and clean yourself properly before showing up. Beware though, squeezing young pimples exposes the surrounding skin to possible infection.
14. Nose picking!
Nose picking in public places is a disgusting habit to do just as it is to watch. Every time you stick your finger in the nose to soothe an itch or extract irritating mucus, you just as well irritate those around you.
You are also placing germs in your fingernails which will ultimately end up on your smartphone screen or other objects you touch!
Besides, your fingernails may contain germs which can lead to infection in the nasal walls.
Instead of your finger, use a handkerchief or some tissue, or lest people begin distrusting your hygiene.

You might have a constant burning desire to make out with your main squeeze, but do it in private. You don't need to inflict your constant desire to be in a lip-lock on innocent bystanders. Many people are embarrassed by public displays of affection, so keep things cool until you are behind closed doors.
16. Inappropriate Attire
Every place has a dress code, either written or assumed. This includes work, school, church, sporting events, and all other places where you'll find groups of people. Before going to an unfamiliar place, find out how you should dress.
17. Laughing at Other People's Misfortunes
As funny as it may seem, when something bad happens to someone else, avoid the urge to laugh. If the urge to chuckle is too strong, try biting the insides of your cheeks. Remember that if it's not funny to the person who experiences the misfortune, it's rude to laugh at him or her.
18. Screaming!

Of course, you have the right to say what you want to say – it is a free world. Still, it is a bad habit to talk loudly on your phone in a manner that makes others uncomfortable.
Keep your conversations on and off the phone private, and always look around you to ensure you are not becoming a misfit.
Besides, allowing others to talk may give you room to see and appreciate people around you. Usually, people who shout do not allow others to talk.
19. Making Inappropriate Comments
Have you ever noticed that some people seem to have no speech filters, and they say the most inappropriate things? If you suspect you are one of them, stop and think before you open your mouth, even if someone is wearing shoes that clash with her dress. 20. Taking More Space Than Necessary
There are other people too standing with you in the same queue. Well, sorry to break your self-centred bubble, but you don’t own the place, which is why it called a ‘public place’ and not a ‘private’ one.
You need to work on this habit because the place has a limited place to form a queue and you cannot take up all the space. Stop standing there like you own the place.
