Born: January 8, 1997

Invention: nanotubes

15-year-old Jack Andraka has invented nanotubes, which can save thousands of pancreatic cancer patients. Due to the lack of funding in the development of ELISA, cancer detection equipment is expensive, unreliable and has not been regularly updated for more than 60 years.

However, with the creation of carbon nanotubes, Andraka and his mentor at John Hopkins University found a reliable and cost-effective test method many times over.

At first, 199 laboratories rejected the boy's idea. However, later, a professor gave him the opportunity to present and help him put the idea into practice.
