As a result of Covid-19 restrictions – and to keep everyone safe – the 2021 arena tour will not go ahead, but tickets for the 2022 arena tour will be available this year and will go on general sale here at 10.00 am on Friday 16 October.
Anton Du Beke, Oti Mabuse, and Katya Jones are among the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professionals set to return for the 2021 series after bosses announced the line-up of dancers on Wednesday (24.03.21)
Anton Du Beke, Oti Mabuse, and Katya Jones are among the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professionals set to return for the 2021 series.
The BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition announced the full line-up of professional dancers taking part in the upcoming 2021 series, which will include beloved show favorite Anton, who is the only dancer to have taken part in every series since the show began in 2004.
Alongside Anton, Oti, and Katya, the rest of the 2021 line-up includes Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Janette Manrara, Johannes Radebe, Karen Hauer, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Nancy Xu, and Neil Jones.
This year sees no new dancers joining the ranks, but it will mark the first time Nancy Xu has been given a celebrity partner since joining the series in 2019 and taking part in all the choreographed group numbers.
In a statement, Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios, said: “We are so thrilled to be welcoming back our incredible line-up of professional dancers for 2021. Their passion and dedication for ‘Strictly’ shone through more than ever last year as they all sacrificed so much to deliver an unforgettable series during unprecedented and challenging times. With so much talent returning to the ballroom, the 2021 series promises more show-stopping choreography, memorable performances, and world-class dancing.”
More information on the series – which will air toward the end of the year – including which celebrities are due to take part will be announced later in the year.
Last year’s series saw comedian Bill Bailey lift the glitterball trophy with his partner Oti, which made her the only dancer in the program’s history to win two consecutive series, having also won in 2019 with actor Kelvin Fletcher.
Although she’ll no doubt be looking to bag herself a hat-trick, the journey won’t be easy with the line-up of dancing talent already announced, List cited.
Strictly Come Dancing 2021 release date
Strictly traditionally starts in September however, due to the pandemic, the 2020 series started a month later than usual with the launch show airing on 17th October and the live shows starting on 24th October.
The 2020 series also ran for nine weeks instead of the usual 13.
At this point it unclear if Strictly 2021 will follow the traditional September start and 13-week run, or whether a shorter series will be aired as in 2020, however, Shirley Ballas has hinted that the show could return to the usual 13 episodes.
The head judge told celebrity website Cameo: “Just a little something, I heard they’re trying to do all thirteen episodes this year.
“Last time we had nine. We’re trying to get 13 shows on. I think they’re getting used to the Covid thing.”

Born in Slovenia, Aljaž took to the dance floor at the age of five and enjoyed much success in his home country where he won 19 Slovenian championships in Ballroom and Latin. For over a decade of competing, Aljaž represented Slovenia at a world level. Aljaž joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2013 and during his first year, he lifted the Glitterball Trophy with Abbey Clancy. Last year he was partnered up with Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo.
Giovanni Pernice was born in Sicily but as a child moved to Bologna to pursue his dancing career, during which he successfully won the Italian Championships in 2012. Giovanni has made the Strictly Come Dancing final an impressive three times, with Georgia May Foote, Debbie McGee, and Faye Tozer. In the most recent series, he partnered with Ranvir Singh and danced all the way to the semi-final.
Gorka Marquez began dancing at the age of 12. He represented Spain in the World Latin Championships in 2010 and reached the semi-finals of the 2012 WDSF World Cup. Gorka has been a professional dancer on Strictly since 2016 and has danced in two finals, with singer Alexandra Burke in 2017 and with actor Maisie Smith in 2020.
Amy began dancing at the age of eight, is a four-time British National Finalist, and went on to become British National Champion, making her one of the highest-ranking Ballroom and Latin dancers in the UK. Amy grew up watching Strictly Come Dancing from her hometown of Caerphilly, South Wales, and in 2017 her dream of dancing on the show came true when she joined the series as a professional dancer. In 2019 she danced all the way to the final with CBBC's Karim Zeroual and most recently she partnered with TV Presenter JJ Chalmers.
Nadiya Bychkova is a highly-decorated dancer originally from Ukraine. She is a two-time World Champion and European Champion in Ballroom and Latin '10' Dance. Nadiya joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and in her first year made it to the Quarter-Final with her celebrity partner Davood Ghadami. She has since also partnered with Lee Ryan and David James.
Janette Manrara was born in Miami and joined the Strictly Come Dancing family in 2013. Before Strictly, Janette was already a dancer at a global level, performing with Jennifer Lopez at the 82nd Academy Awards as well as being a principal dancer in the TV series Glee. Janette's Strictly partners have included Jake Wood, Peter Andre, and Dr. Ranj. In 2020 she was partnered with singer HRVY and reached her first final. Janette has also won the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special twice with partners Melvin Odoom and Aston Merrygold, according to BBC.
Anton Du Beke
Anton will become the show's longest-serving pro when he returns for series 19 later this year. Over the years, he's partnered with the likes of Laila Rouass, Patsy Palmer, Jan Ravens, Jerry Hall, Judy Murray and Gillian Taylforth.
Dianne Buswell is an Australian Open Champion and four-time Amateur Australian Open Finalist. She was a professional dancer on the Australian version of Strictly Come Dancing before joining the UK series in 2017. Dianne reached the final with social media star Joe Sugg in her second series on the show, and most recently was partnered with singer Max George. Dianne found love on the show after partnering with YouTuber Joe Sugg in 2018, but could this be the year she takes home the Glitterball Trophy?
Graziano Di Prima
Sicilian-born Graziano Di Prima, an Italian Latin Champion, joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, partnering radio presenter Vick Hope in his first year on the series. Before Strictly, as well as competing for his home country, Graziano also represented Belgium at the World Championships and made the top 24 at the Under 21 Latin World Championships. Graziano has also toured the world with the dance company Burn The Floor. Graziano is one of the newer members of the Strictly family, having joined the show in 2018. While last year he didn't partner up with a celeb contestant, we'd love to see more of him on the dance floor this year, Hellomagazine wrote.
Katya made history in the 2020 series as one half of Strictly Come Dancing's first-ever same-sex couple with a professional boxer, Nicola Adams but sadly didn't get very far before having to withdraw. Here's hoping Katya's luck is back on track for 2021!
Despite the rumors of her exit, Oti is confirmed to be returning for the new season. The 36-year-old became the first professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing to win the trophy for two consecutive years with last year's win with comedian Bill Bailey.
One of the show's newest recruits, Nancy, has yet to be partnered with a celeb dancer, but we'd love to see her strutting her stuff on the dance floor. Here's hoping 2021 is the year she makes her full debut.
Neil has been a Strictly professional since 2016, dancing in the series' group numbers and Christmas Specials. In 2019 he partnered with footballer Alex Scott and managed to reach week 11. Could 2021 be the year Neil goes all the way in the competition? Let's wait and see!

It’s likely that Shirley Ballas will return as head judge with Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood joining her on the panel for another series.
It is hoped that Bruno Tonioli will be able to return for the next series, having missed out on the 2020 shows due to travel restrictions in place during the pandemic.
How to watch Strictly Come Dancing 2021 from anywhere?
Strictly Come Dancing is back again for another season full of foxtrots, quicksteps, and waltzes. Fans of this hit reality show have been waiting in the wings for this season’s sequin-spangled lineup to compete.
For those in the UK, you can tune in to BBC One or use the BBC iPlayer app on your favorite device, but if you’re outside of the UK, you’re out of luck… unless you read this guide to find out how to watch Strictly Come Dancing from anywhere!
That’s right – you can watch ‘Strictly’ (as it’s affectionately called) from absolutely anywhere in the world. You can access the show on BBC iPlayer if you can make it appear as though you’re in the UK. To do this, you need a VPN.
Quick Guide –How to Watch Strictly Come Dancing on BBC iPlayer
- Pick a VPN that has servers in the UK. We recommend NordVPN due to their fast streaming speed, high reliability, and fair prices.
- Install the VPN and connect to a server anywhere in the UK (to watch Strictly Come Dancing).
- Head over to BBC iPlayer and log in/sign up and start streaming.
How to Sign Up for BBC iPlayer
You may initially encounter a couple of barriers to watching content on BBC iPlayer.
- When signing up for a BBC iPlayer account, you will need to enter your location. To ensure you have no trouble accessing UK content, search for any UK postcode online and enter that. You won’t need to give any further details. As long as you’re using a VPN that’s connected to a UK server, you should have no problem accessing iPlayer.
- When first accessing the iPlayer, you may be asked if you have a ‘UK TV License.’ This is an annual license that UK residents must buy to watch television, and you are technically meant to possess one to watch iPlayer; however, you don’t need to prove that you hold one as the system is honor-based, so when prompted, just click ‘I have a TV license. Watch Now’.
Why You Need a VPN to Watch Strictly Come Dancing
Due to copyright and licensing laws, Strictly Come Dancing is not available outside the UK. If you are outside the UK and try to watch Strictly (or any other show on BBC iPlayer), you’ll receive an error message stating “BBC iPlayer only works in the UK. Sorry, it’s due to rights issues”. This restriction is called a geoblock or geo-restriction.
We can help you learn how to stream Strictly Come Dancing on BBC iPlayer from outside the UK. All you need is an IP address that appears to be in the UK. To do that, you need a VPN.
A VPN allows you to circumvent the BBC iPlayer’s geoblock by tricking it into believing you’re in the UK. Your VPN masks your real IP address and reroutes your connection through a UK server, giving you a UK-based IP address.
The BBC iPlayer sees your UK-based IP and assumes you’re there, which gives you full access to all the content on the iPlayer, meaning you can watch Strictly just after it airs live!
That’s Not All a VPN Can Do
Besides giving you access to any geoblocked content from almost anywhere in the world, a VPN gives you so much more. The primary benefits of using a VPN are the security benefits.
A quality VPN keeps you safe online by masking your IP and encrypting your data, meaning nobody can see what you’re doing online or what data you’re transmitting.
As a bonus, a VPN can sometimes improve your connection speeds by routing your connection through a server that’s less congested or of a higher quality than your own ISP would use. This is highly noticeable when streaming or gaming, giving you a smooth, buffer, and glitch-free connection.
