Ted Bundy is perhaps one of the most notorious serial killers in history. The rapist and necrophiliac admitted to 30 murders in his lifetime, but he often suggested that the true tally of victims was significantly higher.
Part of what made Bundy so terrifying was his narcissism. Witnesses have often said that he was a naturally charming man who easily earned women’s trust. One of those females was his former co-worker Carole Ann Boone, whom he married in a courtroom while being tried for the murder of a 12-year-old. Their relationship produced one child, but Boone reportedly filed for divorce after he finally confessed to his depraved crime spree.
Since then, Ted Bundy’s daughter, Rose Bundy, has been living a life of anonymity. While we respect her right to privacy, exhaustive research on Bundy’s life has exposed some details about her.

Rose Bundy was born on 24th October 1982 in the United States of American. She is the daughter of Ted Bundy and Carol Anne Boone. Her grandparents are Eleanor Louise Cowell and Johnny Culpepper Bundy. She has two half-siblings; James Boone and a sister whose name is not known.

Bundy wasn’t allowed conjugal visits, so once Boone became pregnant, rumors began to surface about just how that happened (and if her child was even really Bundy's). In a 1981 newspaper article in The Deseret News, Boone said "it’s nobody’s business" how she conceived a child with Bundy.

Who is the mother of Ted Bundy's daughter?
Rose's mother is known as Carole Anne Boone. Rose is her parents' only child together. Rose Bundy's siblings are half-siblings from her mother and father's side. She has a half-brother named James Boone, born to her mother from a previous relationship. Rosa also has a half-sister from her father’s side. Previously, Ted was in a relationship with Elizabeth Kloepfer, who had a daughter named Molly. However, Rose was her father's first biological child.

| Rose Bundy Was Conceived While Her Father Was On Death Row Rose was conceived while her father was in prison. Bundy wasn’t permitted conjugal visits while awaiting the death penalty, so there are multiple theories as to how Boone was impregnated. Some believe that prison guards were bribed and turned a blind eye while prisoners had sex with spouses; another wild theory is that Bundy slipped his wife a condom full of his own semen so that she could do the job without intercourse. |

Carol had been married twice before and was in the middle of her second divorce when she met Ted. Carol had a son, James, at the time. Ted was still dating Elizabeth "Liz" Kloepfer, and therefore, did not date her. The two were friends for years before dating. They continued with their relationship even after his initial arrest with Carole believing in his innocence throughout the trial. In one of the court sessions, Carol was a character witness for the notorious killer. She was by his side throughout his trial. After his conviction, Carol assisted him to escape prison. He ended up in Florida, where he killed three more women. |
Where is Rosa Bundy now?
In 1986, Boone and Bundy divorced, and she and Rosa left Florida for Washington. It’s been said that Boone was so devastated by Bundy's death row confessions to his murders that she even refused a final phone call from him. Three years after their divorce, Bundy was executed on January 24, 1989. According to E!, Rose is now 37 and has stayed out of the spotlight.
The Sun notes that it’s likely that 6-year-old Rose was never allowed to contact her dad before his execution. It’s also likely Boone has since changed her and Rose’s names. And who can really blame them?
Rose has lived away from the spotlight since birth. There have been several documentaries and films released, and books published, trying to cover the life of Ted and his family. Some of these are Ted Bundy (2002), Extremely Wicked, Fry Day (2017), Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019), The Only Living Witness (Stephen G. Michaud, 1993), The Stranger Besides Me (Anne Rule, 1980), and Falling for a Killer.
In the Amazon Prime documentary series Falling for a Killer, where Carole's face is shown, Rose's face is shown as a blurry image. There are not many photos of Rose Bundy available.
Rose Bundy Vanished From Public Eye After Ted Bundy’s Execution
Rose Bundy’s current whereabouts are unknown. Carole Ann filed for divorce in 1986, three years before Bundy was executed via the electric chair. It is believed that she took her two children and changed their identities to protect themselves from public scrutiny. Theories about Rose’s new name and location have been floating around the internet, but none have been confirmed. Ann Rule, author of the 1980 biography Bundy, The Stranger Beside Me, issued an update in the 2008 reprint of her book. “I have heard that Ted’s daughter is a kind and intelligent young woman but I have no idea where she and her mother may live,” she wrote. “They have been through enough pain.” She also added on her website, “I have deliberately avoided knowing anything about Ted’s ex-wife and daughter’s whereabouts because they deserve privacy. “I don’t want to know where they are; I never want to be caught off guard by some reporter’s question about them. All I know is that Ted’s daughter has grown up to be a fine young woman.” |
According to many news sources, after Boone left Bundy and returned to Washington, she changed her name and those of her children as well. This move is conceivable because of the negative light in which Ted Bundy crimes and life will cast on all who knew him personally.

Rosa is still alive. According to Globe, Rose now lives in Britain, as a housewife, with three kids. Rose Bundy's daughters and (or) sons are not known. Rose Bundy has lived her entire life out of the public eye due to her deceased father’s criminal history.
She has tried to escape her father's shadow by changing her name and moving from her original area of residence.
Rose Bundy will be 39 years old on her birthday in 2021 and she has managed to stay out of the public eye. Meanwhile, Film Daily claims that Carole Boone died from septic shock in a Washington State retirement home at the age of 70 in January 2018.
During her time in the home, no one knew who she was until her passing. She was only said to have two interests – knitting and watching nature programs. Women’s Health Mag also corroborated this claim in a January 2020 online publication on her.
