Reveal Date
To kick off the new year, Sony put up a killer lineup that included two PS4 games and one PS5 game, and many PlayStation Plus subscribers are hoping momentum will be sustained with an equally great lineup. We already know one of the three games will be Destruction AllStars, a brand new PS5 game from Sony releasing next month, but right now, this is all we know.
Before we get to the release date, it's time to look at when we will find out what's coming next month. Sony are known for revealing their games ahead of time, so, therefore, it's right to expect to see the list confirmed this week, according to Real Sport 101.
Wednesday, 27 January is when we expect to see the titles revealed, but if not Wednesday, we're sure we will know the titles before the week is out.
Release Date
As for the release date, Monday, 1 February is a pretty safe bet.
Sony doesn't have many days to play around with in February, and with the first falling on a Monday, there's no reason to hang about!

The February 2021 free PlayStation Plus games will be revealed at 4.30pm UK time on January 27. The free games will be available to download less than a week later, on the morning of February 2. Subscribers already have a pretty good idea about what to expect, particularly on PlayStation 5, quoted Express.co.uk.
According to Sony, PS5 users with a PS Plus account can download and play Destruction All-Stars. Originally tipped to launch alongside the PS5 back in November, Destruction All-Stars is a vehicular combat game that's best played in multiplayer.
"Dominate the glittering global phenomenon of Destruction AllStars – the spectacular prime-time sport for dangerous drivers!" reads the official description.
"Master the art of intense vehicle-based combat through timing, tactics and skills to cause colossal amounts of damage, destruction and devastation in vibrant arenas across the globe.
The game features 16 different drivers, each with their own playstyles, stats and special abilities.
This time around, we have a situation where this past fall, Sony said that Lucid Games’ Destruction AllStars was going to be delayed out of the holiday window, and would instead by premiering in February 2021 as a PS Plus game, giving players the heads up way ahead of time, says Forbes. The move seemed like a good idea with so many high profile games out during the holiday period, and Destruction AllStars would be able to shine as a PS Plus offering in February, making its debut for free and allowing players to dive right into it in the hope of creating another Rocket League-like success story. |
If you subscribe to PS Plus today, then you can download both the January and February free games. This includes Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Greedfall on PS4, as well as Maneater on PS5.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is arguably the pick of the bunch, although Maneater has developed something of a cult following since launch.
"Experience the ultimate power fantasy as the apex predator of the seas - a terrifying SHARK!" reads the official description.
"Maneater is a single-player, open-world action RPG (ShaRkPG) where YOU are the shark. Starting as a small shark pup you are tasked with surviving the harsh world while eating your way up the ecosystem.
"To do this you will explore a large and varied open world encountering diverse enemies - both human and wildlife. Find the right resources and you can grow and evolve far beyond what nature intended, allowing the player to tailor the shark to their play style."

Previously set to release alongside the PS5, madcap vehicular multiplayer effort Destruction AllStars looks like a delicious cross between PS4 PlayStation Plus superstar Rocket League and Destruction Derby. And we are absolutely here for it, PSU noted.
PS4 PS Plus Free Games February 2021 Predictions
While the PlayStation Plus February 2021 PS5 game has been confirmed, we still don’t know what games PS4 folks will be getting. As usual though, we have some predictions about that.
Civilization VI (2019) – PS4

The sixth core installment of Sid Meier’s legendary strategy series comes storming onto PS4 with enough depth and sophistication to keep armchair generals and diplomats alike enraptured for potentially thousands of hours.
But that’s only one game, and it seems likely there will be one or two more alongside it. Which games might show up this time?
Watch Dogs 2
While Legion didn’t exactly set the world in fire this fall, Watch Dogs 2 still seems like it would be a solid addition to the PS Plus line-up, and exactly the type of game that would fit well there this far after release. If Ubisoft was counting on pre-Legion sales for it, that period is now over, so why not?
Far Cry 5

This is another Ubisoft option I could see happening, as we are still pretty far ahead of Far Cry 6, and enough time has passed to make this an attractive offering. It wasn’t the best of the series, but it wouldn’t be bad for a free title either.
Untitled Goose Game
Switching to the indie side of things, I could see Untitled Goose Game honking its way onto PS Plus after all this time.
Uncharted Lost Legacy
Lost Legacy is not offered in the grand PS Plus Collection list, yet it’s one of PlayStation’s best, smaller-scale AA offerings as a Naughty Dog spin-off, and hell, at this rate with Nathan Drake retired, the central duo could be the future of the franchise for all we know.
Outer Wilds
An overlooked GOTY contender, a free offering on PS Plus would be a great way to get way, way more people to check it out, which it absolutely deserves.
Those are some of my predictions alongside the confirmed Destruction AllStars arrival. We should know more soon. Very soon, most likely.
