Next month, the 25th Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) will reopen with 232 submissions from 43 nations.
The JIFF organizing committee revealed this year's selections and programs at a press conference on April 3 at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul's Yongsan-gu District.
The event, which has the theme "We Always Cross the Line," will take place on Jeonju Film Street in Wansan-gu District of Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do Province from May 1–10, screening 102 domestic and 130 international films.
"All the Long Nights," the most recent film by Japanese director Sho Miyake, is the first feature. The film centers on the relationship between a man with a panic disorder and a woman who has premenstrual syndrome. It is based on the same-titled novel by Japanese author Maiko Seo.
The final movie, "Matt and Mara," directed by Canadian Kazik Radwanski, tells the tale of Mara, a young creative writing professor, and her reunion with Matt, a free-spirited writer from her past.

The festival began at WonderCon at the Anaheim Convention Center on March 29-31 and will move to the James Bridges Theater on the UCLA campus on May 11 and the historic The Yard Theatre in Los Angeles on May 26.
The festival is raising funds to bring Marusya Shuvalova, a young Ukrainian filmmaker, and her family to Los Angeles in May to screen her two fantastic short documentary films about growing up during wartime. Marusya will also make school appearances and attend filmmaker learning sessions with industry professionals.

The Festival de Cannes will introduce a new competition, the “Immersive Competition” for its 77th edition. The Immersive Competition of the Festival de Cannes is a new competition dedicated to immersive works. The first edition will be held from May 15-24, 2024.
The Festival de Cannes is excited to announce the creation of the new Immersive Competition for its upcoming 77th edition. This move is in keeping with the Marché du Film's commitment to exploring new technologies and art forms through its innovative-focused programs, and it comes seven years after its first immersive selection. The competition's objective is to highlight the upcoming wave of global artists who are reinventing storytelling and creating fresh, narrative-driven experiences that go beyond the confines of the conventional two-dimensional movie screen.
The competition will feature immersive, collaborative, and interactive works that use augmented reality, virtual reality, and other cutting-edge technologies to go beyond traditional storytelling and take viewers to other worlds, stories, and eras, with the support of the CNC (National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image).

Every year, the five-day Harlem International Film Festival (Hi) takes place in Harlem, New York.
The inaugural festival happened in 2005. At the festival that year, Michael Franti's I Know I'm Not Alone took home the Best International Documentary title.Eme Nakia, a short film, was chosen to be shown at the 2006 festival.The Hip Hop Project, which Bruce Willis and Queen Latifah produced, won the Best Documentary Film Oscar that same year.
Vanessa L. Williams won Best Actress at the festival one year. One year, the festival screened Matthew Hope's short film In The Field.

Israel's premier film festival that only screens documentaries is called the Docaviv Film Festival. Every year in May, it is the biggest film festival in Tel Aviv, spanning ten days. Over the course of its existence, Docaviv has screened more than 80 films from Israel and other countries, many of which are national premieres. It also hosts a wide range of events that draw in curious members of the public, movie buffs, and industry insiders from all over the world.
The Tel Aviv Cinematheque hosts the Docaviv Film Festival, but there are also additional, free screenings and events taking place all over the city at locations like the Port of Tel Aviv, HaPisga Garden in Jaffa, Habima Square, and a few rooftops in Tel Aviv. The IndieLisboa International Film Festival is centered around the presentation of films that bridge the gap in the distribution of films created by mainstream production and distribution that rules the market. The competitive programs made up of world, international, or national premieres make up the majority of IndieLisboa. Almost every chosen film has its national premiere at the festival, with very few exceptions. The children's and youth section of the festival, IndieJunior, is essential to raising local film literacy among this demographic and developing new audiences. The festival's industry-focused events and national competitions are intended to highlight the discovery of Portuguese recent films.
A program created especially for the industry (audience of film professionals, filmmakers, producers, sales agents, programmers, critics, etc.) is the main focus of the festival IndieLisboa. Parallel to the screenings program, this industry core consists of a number of events such as workshops, masterclasses, debates, a script-writing lab, a film fund, a pitching forum, screenings of works-in-progress, and several networking opportunities. The industry center is steadily growing and actively influencing the dynamics of a more varied network of film distribution and exhibition.

One of the world's first festivals devoted to documentaries, animated features, and short features is the Krakow Film Festival. Its three main competitions are the national competition, the short film competition, and the documentary film competition, all of which are of equal standing. Viewers get the opportunity to see roughly 250 films from Poland and other countries during the eight festival days. They are screened in special screenings as well as competition sections. Exhibitions, concerts, outdoor performances, and artist meetings take place in conjunction with the festival. Approximately 900 Polish and foreign visitors, including directors, producers, festival programmers, and a large number of Krakow audience members, attend the festival each year.
