Manchester United have agreed a £72.9million deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
The Manchester Evening News understands United have agreed to pay £72.9m (€85m) up front with no add-ons, despite Dortmund's attempts to negotiate a higher fee overall.
The MEN reported earlier this month Sancho, 21, had agreed personal terms with United and the club has reached a breakthrough with his transfer fee.
Sancho's salary was a stumbling block during negotiations last year but United resolved his personal terms swiftly in order to settle on a fee with Dortmund.
Elsewhere, Juan Mata would like to stay at United, though his contract expired at midnight.
United have the option to keep Mata, 33, for an additional year and the club clarified on June 4 they were still in discussions to extend his deal.
Jadon Sancho 'to be handed' No.7 shirt at United
With a fee agreed we can focus on the lighter bits of news regarding Jadon Sancho.
The Metro are already speculating on a possible squad number with the No.7 shirt touted.
It would mean Edinson Cavani switching to another number himself having occupied it last season.
United 'confident' of Raphael Varane move as Spurs target eyed

The Red Devils are becoming increasingly confident of securing a deal for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
Varane has been a long-term target for United and he could well be on his way to Old Trafford this summer.
According to ESPN, the Premier League giants fancy their chances of securing a move worth in the region of £43million.
The 28-year-old defender is out of contract at Madrid next summer and is believed to have held talks with United.
Central defence is a key area the Red Devils are looking to improve in this transfer window and Varane is the club's number-one target.
Sancho is a Manchester United transfer coup four years in the making
Jadon Sancho has not cost Manchester United as much as Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku or Harry Maguire. Even in this upside down world of a pandemic, that signals a triumph.
Borussia Dortmund demanded £108million for Sancho last year and are pocketing £72.9m this year. That is a surprisingly substantial difference of £35.1m. In other words, the up-front cost of United's last defensive midfield addition. Sancho bagged 36 goals and 40 assists in the last two seasons.
There are no add-ons included in the Sancho package. Dortmund dug in their heels in over that, floating outlandish add-ons such as United winning the Champions League twice. A source said others were 'achievable'.
United are said to be weighing up a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.
The 26-year-old joined the Bundesliga champions from Schalke in 2018 and only has one year remaining on his current contract.
According to German publication Bild, the Red Devils have allegedly made contact with the agent Goretzka as they eye a potential transfer deal.
Red Devils to rival Spurs bid
United are ready to go head-to-head with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Spurs have reportedly made an offer for the Japanese centre-back, but Solskjaer's side are prepared to enter the race for his services.
According to CalcioAtalanta , the Red Devils have made contact with the Serie A outfit to register their interest as they eye defensive reinforcements.
The report adds that this has gone no further than a 'simple phone call', but United are keeping a close eye on developments surrounding the 22-year-old.
Manchester United could offer Jesse Lingard as Declan Rice makeweight

Manchester United may offer Jesse Lingard to West Ham in order to seal the signing of Declan Rice, according to reports.
United have had a slow start to the summer transfer window but are finally edging closer to making their first signing after agreeing a fee with Borussia Dortmund for winger Jadon Sancho.
More acquisitions are expected as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to improve his squad, with a centre-back, right-back and defensive midfield all being targeted.
England star Rice is well-liked by the club and the Manchester Evening News reported in April that the 22-year-old is interested in making the switch to Old Trafford.
West Ham are desperate to keep their star man as they prepare to compete in the Europa League next season but, according to the Guardian, Rice is keen to play Champions League football.
It's reported that he has already turned down two contract offers from the Hammers and wishes to be informed if any bids are made for him during the transfer window.
Rice still has three years remaining on his current contract, however, and it's claimed that West Ham would want at least £100million to think about letting him leave the London Stadium.
The report states that United may look to lower that price by offering Lingard as part of a deal. The forward shone on loan at West Ham last season and manager David Moyes is keen to have him back for next season, though the Irons would prefer a stand-alone deal.
