Rhino Calf survives Lion attack

Impi, a 6-month-old Southern White Rhino heifer who now lives at The Rhino Orphanage, was attacked by lions in January 2022. The brave little cow eventually managed to chase the lions away, but not before her right leg, in particular her stifle joint, was bitten and badly injured.

Her wound was treated and the infection was brought under control, however she still limps on the leg and has an abnormal gait. The local vet asked us to take radiographs and help assess the affected limb.
