|Leipzig vs. Liverpool, Champions League: Live stream, How to watch on TV, Team news, Prediction, Kick-of Time|
The Champions League returns this week with Liverpool the first of the three English flag bearers in action. The Reds have been in worrying form of late, so the distraction of Champions League football is a welcome one. RB Leipzig are no pushovers, though, and last season's semi-finalists will be confident of securing a first leg advantage.
The match was relocated due to COVID travel restrictions, and the Bundesliga side is coming off a three-game winning streak. Meanwhile Liverpool are coming off a three-game losing streak in Premier League. This is the first ever meeting between the clubs in European competition and the first meeting between German managers Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool) & Julian Nagelsmann (Leipzig).

Team News Leipzig vs. Liverpool
January arrival Dominik Szoboszlai remains sidelined for RB Leipzig with the Hungarian yet to feature for his new side following his move from Salzburg. The youngster would have welcomed the chance to make his debut against the Reds in his homeland. Ibrahima Konate returned from injury over the weekend, which boosts RB Leipzig's defensive options. Konrad Laimer, Benjamin Henrichs and Emil Forsberg will all be assessed for the German outfit.
For Liverpool, their injury issues are not letting up. Defensive trio Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip miss out, while Naby Keita sits out a meeting with his former employers. Diogo Jota is also sidelined through injury. James Milner came off early in Liverpool's 3-1 loss to Leicester to join the quintet in the physio room. Fabinho didn't train on Monday and Ben Davies is expected to wait that bit longer for his Liverpool debut. As such, Ozan Kabak will continue at the heart of the defence to make his first Champions League appearance for the Reds and will be looking to quickly bounce back following a poor showing at Leicester on Saturday.
RB Leipzig (352) - Gulacsi; Mukiele, Upamecano, Klostermann; Adams, Sabitzer, Kampl, Olmo, Angelino; Poulsen, Nkunku
Liverpool (433) - Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Henderson, Kabak, Robertson; Thiago, Wijnaldum, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mane
RB Leipzig: 3-5-2
Liverpool : 4-3-3
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool get back to winning on a close, tense match with lots of opportunity in front of goal. Pick: Liverpool 2, Leipzig 1
- Liverpool were considered favourites when this tie was originally drawn but so much has changed since then that many will now fancy Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
- Leipzig have only lost one home game all season but this match will be played at a neutral venue in Budapest, Hungary due to travel restrictions in Germany.
- Liverpool have plunged further into crisis after a third straight loss and fifth defeat in seven games. The manner of their collapse against Leicester, after playing pretty well, was alarming.

|Preview Team |
*Liverpool target Ibrahima Konate returned from injury in RB Leipzig's 2-1 win over Augsburg at the weekend. Another Liverpool target, Dayot Upamecano, has decided to join Bayern Munich this summer.
*Justin Kluivert was fit enough for a place on the bench at the weekend, but Emil Forsberg missed out and remains a doubt here. January arrival Dominik Szoboszlai is still on the mend, with Konrad Laimer and Benjamin Henrichs also injury concerns.
*Peter Gulacsi spent five years at Liverpool without ever making a first-team appearance but will get the chance to face his old club here.
*Yussuf Poulsen or Alexander Sorloth will partner Christopher Nkunku up front against Liverpool.
*Neither James Milner nor Fabinho trained on Monday and look set to miss out here. The latter would be a massive miss for Liverpool.
*Ozan Kabak should therefore retain his place in the side despite an error on debut against Leicester, though fellow deadline day arrival Ben Davies is an option.
*Naby Keita is back in training but Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the former RB Leipzig midfielder will not travel to face his former club.
