Kong vs Godzilla trailer: First look at epic monsters, All released footages & Action scenes
Collection of all released footages
The trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong has compiled all the previously leaked footage from the film, showing the beginning of the epic battle between the Monsterverse’s two chief titans. The film has been highly anticipated ever since Kong: Skull Island established both monsters existed in the same shared universe, and fans have highly anticipated their inevitable collision.
The showdown between Godzilla and King Kong has been one of the biggest promises of the Monsterverse, and fans should be excited to see the film for themselves in March. The two iconic movie monsters haven’t dueled since 1962’s King Kong vs. Godzilla, a cult classic of sorts that ends with Kong as the apparent victor. The future of the Monsterverse after Godzilla vs. Kong is still unclear, and it may largely depend on the public response to the new film.
The grand plan for the Monsterverse may very well rest on the shoulders of Godzilla and Kong, as the franchise’s early entries have been plagued by inconsistency. Gareth Edwards’s Godzilla (2014) was received favorably by both critics and fans, but Kong: Skull Island followed up that success with a more mediocre performance. Godzilla: King of the Monsters was heavily criticized upon its release, leaving the upcoming film to assert whether the franchise will continue to decline or rise to the promise it once held.
Regardless of how Godzilla vs. Kong performs, the Monsterverse will inevitably have to face its other problem of finding new stories to tell. While the Toho universe of kaiju films has plenty of fun creatures to choose from, none of them have anywhere near the cultural draw of Godzilla or King Kong.
First look at the epic monsters
The ultimate movie monster battle is going to be epic if there's anything to go by the first Godzilla vs. Kong movie trailer, which dropped on Sunday. The trailer gives more clues about what will happen in the upcoming movie, including more on how Kong and his protectors, who are on a quest to find Kong his real home. Kong makes friends with an orphan child named Jia, who is the only one who can really communicate with him. She even makes him his own Kong doll, said CNet.
But their quest gets extra complicated when they cross paths with the king of angry movie monsters -- Godzilla. Apparently, something is provoking Godzilla into hurting humans and demolishing cities. In the trailer, the two monsters immediately start fighting when Kong delivers a mean right hook. This fight already looks amazing from the get-go.
The clip also gives us a sneak peek of LeBron James and Bugs Bunny in Space Jam 2, the sequel to the 1996 live-action/animation hybrid sports comedy. It’s helmed by Malcolm D. Lee, director of movies like Girls Trip and Scary Movie 5, and written by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler. Don Cheadle plays the sequel’s villain, while NBA players Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, and Kyle Kuzma all make cameos, according to Game Radar.

What to expect from the new trailer?
While at first, you’d think Godzilla would be the clear winner, based on sheer size and his ability to slice through ships with his gnarly back ridge, King Kong is bringing a lot to the ring in Warner Bros.’ first full trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong. Not only does Kong have some kind of hand-hewn weapon that can block Godzilla’s atomic breath, but he’s also apparently got a longstanding legendary grudge fueling his rage. “The myths are real,” Rebecca Hall’s Ilene Andrews explains. “There was a war, and they’re the last one standing.”
The trailer is full of classic ominous monster-movie lines like that one hinting at a full-on behemoth battle, headlined by Godzilla and the greatest of great apes. “We need Kong,” Alexander Skarsgård’s geologist, Nathan Lind, warns. “The world needs him to stop what’s coming.” Worries Kyle Chandler’s Dr. Mark Russell, “Godzilla’s out there and he’s hurting people, and we don’t know why.”
Hopefully, they can join forces with Millie Bobbie Brown, Brian Tyree Henry, Julian Dennison, and presumably, the rest of the planet’s scientists to find a solution before all of the world’s capitals are stomped apart like so many Lego buildings. On humanity’s side, at least, is Kong’s relationship with tiny human child Jia (Kaylee Hottle), who hopefully can communicate with the gigantic simian from a safe distance during this whole escapade, Vulture cited.

All about the new hit: Godzilla vs. Kong
2021 is going to be another year of chaos at the movies. That much is certain. While most studios appear to have a plan for how to handle movie releases this year, there's still a lot of uncertainty and that translates to equal uncertainty in movie marketing. Because release dates are far from guaranteed, we haven't seen a lot of movie trailers on the schedule that we're used to seeing.
Godzilla vs Kong has actually been one of the more talked about blockbusters in recent weeks, not simply because it's, quite literally, a big upcoming movie, but it was one of the movies that saw some controversy brew as part of Warner Bros. decision to do day-and-date releases in theaters and on HBO Max in 2021. Legendary, the studio behind both Godzilla vs. Kong and Dune, took issue with the distributor's unilateral decision. There were even threats of legal action. Eventually, it was decided that Dune would get a theatrical release only this fall, but Godzilla vs. Kong is still set for the simultaneous debut.
Godzilla vs. Kong is directed by Adam Wingard (Netflix's Death Note), and stars actors Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, and Kyle Chandler. There are many Godzilla and King Kong movies already out there, but Godzilla vs. Kong is actually a shared universe of films that follow Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). Therefore, it is recommended that you check out all those mentioned movies to get a good start with Godzilla & Kong.
Fans will be able to cheer for their favorite kaiju monster when Godzilla vs. Kong is released in theaters and on HBO Max on March 26.
