India's Weather forecast for March 8

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that some states are likely to witness a thunderstorm on Saturday and Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, there are some western disturbances in the Himalayan region, and that is the reason why there will be some change in the weather. Snowfall is also predicted in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh. As per the Meteorological Department, the thunderstorm is likely to prevail in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on Sunday. Additionally, the IMD is also expecting light shower rains in the Delhi-NCR region. According to the weather agency, due to the western disturbance, there is a possibility that the rain may occur in the country's capital. The weather agency also reported that the maximum temperature of Delhi is likely to reach 35 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the state of Arunachal Pradesh is likely to witness fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, Assam and Meghalaya are in for scattered to fairly widespread showers, while Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will experience isolated to scattered rains until Sunday, March 7. The Weather Channel’s met team has indicated that locally heavy rainfall of up to 50 mm is on the cards particularly over eastern Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.

Thereafter, the new week will bring isolated to scattered precipitation over the entire northeastern region on Monday and Tuesday, March 8-9. Meanwhile, isolated thunderstorms and lightning will remain prevalent across the region during the entirety of this forecast period. In view of these predictions, the IMD has issued a yellow watch over the entire northeast on Saturday. Come Sunday, the watch will only cover the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The watch advises residents to be aware of the local weather situation. In spite of the wet weather, the daytime temperatures are unlikely to undergo a dip in this forecast period. In fact, the IMD has predicted that the maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 3-5°C over many parts of the Northeast, along with Central, Eastern, and Western India.

Meanwhile, as per IMD observations, rainfall was recorded at most places across Arunachal Pradesh; at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya, and at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between the morning and evening hours of Friday, March 5. The ongoing wet spell over the region began at the beginning of the week, and since March 1, both Arunachal Pradesh (32.2 mm) and Sikkim (46.4 mm) have managed to record excessive precipitation as compared to their long-term average for the period between March 1-6. Other northeastern states to register any precipitation in this time frame include Assam (3.7 mm), Mizoram (1.8 mm), and Nagaland (1 mm).

Next Week Weather Forecast

While the IMD outlook for the month of March released on Friday predicted a very high probability of the State recording above normal temperature, the prediction is short in details regarding the sub-state maximum or minimum temperatures. However, a look at the long-range models of IMD and lead Met organizations like ECMWF (European Commission Medium-Range Weather Forecast) and Accuweather gives enough clues about the climatology of the Temple town in the month of March.

The predictions show the coming week will be a hotter one. The daytime maximum temperature is predicted to remain in the range of 37-39 degrees C till the coming Wednesday (March 10). However, the real Sunny show will begin on March 11 and will continue till the end of the week. The mercury, as per model estimates, will shoot up to 40 deg C. As per model predictions, the pattern of sea wind (from the Bay of Bengal) will change, and the sea wind will blow towards the land leading to the deflection of the dry wind coming from north-west India towards the central-northern Odisha. Still, the predictions show the maximum daytime temperature in Bhubaneswar will rise because the winds will remain very light (around 14 kmph).
