Rain and thundershower activities occurred over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west and central Uttar Pradesh, and north Madhya Pradesh. Induced cyclonic circulation has also shifted over the central part of Uttar Pradesh. An anti-cyclone is now over Jharkhand and adjoining area. A cyclonic circulation is persisting over eastern parts of Bangladesh.

During the next 24 hours, light rain with one or two moderate spells may occur over central and east Uttar Pradesh, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and isolated pockets of north Nagaland. Minimum temperatures drop further over North West and Central India leading to cold wave conditions at some places. Moreover, isolated snow/rain and thunderstorms are possible over Arunachal Pradesh. 5-Day Nationwide Weather Forecast
Parts of the northeast and east India are likely to end the weekend on a wet note. This is mainly due to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over northeast Madhya Pradesh and the prevalence of lower-level south-easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal. The incursion of these weather systems are expected to produce light to moderate rain—isolated to scattered—over north Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim on February 6, said The Weather Channel.
Moreover, some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh are expected to witness these aforementioned weather conditions on February 6 and 7. Along with the rain, there are also possibilities of thundershowers with isolated thunderstorms or hailstorms and lightning over all of these places for the next two days. In view of the above predictions, the IMD has issued an orange alert over Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. The next western disturbance is likely to approach Western Himalayan Region on Sunday. Minimal impact is expected at this point.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cold and dry northerly or northwesterly winds have set in over most parts of northwest India, which are likely to cause a drop in mercury levels by 2-4°C in during the next 2-3 days. Some isolated parts of north Rajasthan are likely to experience dense fog in the morning hours in the next 24 hours. Dense fog is also predicted over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi during the morning hours of the next two days and over Uttar Pradesh for the next 3 days. Meanwhile, Konkan and Malabar Coast are likely to observe maximum temperatures over 35°C beyond Sunday. Overnight minimums will be 4°C-8°C lower than normal across east Maharashtra and the adjoining areas from Saturday to Monday. Other areas are likely to experience dry conditions in this forecast period.
