The big screen is getting a brand new superhero, as Morbius, which stars Jared Leto as a once Spider-Man villain turned anti-hero, is getting released on April 1.

Coming from Sony Pictures, Morbius is set to fall into the grey area on how closely associated the movie is to the MCU (like Venom). But as we learned in Spider-Man: No Way Home, you never know who may pop up in these loosely interconnected universes.

Morbius will be available in most theaters starting April 1, but there are some early showtimes this afternoon depending on your location.

If you're wondering how and where to watch it yourself, check the information below.

Is Morbius Streaming and When Will Morbius Be Available to Stream?

Morbius will not be available for streaming as of its April 1 release date. The movie theater exclusive run will make a trip to the cinema the only way to watch the movie for likely 30-45 days.

We do not yet know when Morbius will be available to stream online. Neither movie has announced a streaming release date as of yet.

It's unlikely that it would end up on HBO Max, however, as Sony does not have a domestic deal with that service to stream its titles.

We will update this page with the information as soon as a streaming service has been confirmed.

Sony, not having a streaming service of its own, will likely follow what it has done with Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home as far as a digital strategy. Both movies were made available on digital through premium video-on-demand services at least 45 days after debuting in movie theaters.

Morbius Final Trailer

The movie follows biochemist Dr. Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Mobius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil, or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe has its first expansion out of Venom territory with Morbius, the Jared Leto-led superhero flick about a so-called “Living Vampire.” Director Daniel Espinosa approaches this bat-man’s beginnings with horror flourishes once seen in his sci-fi thriller Life, but they’re never pronounced enough that they’ll satisfy horror audiences. Morbius presents its origin story with the most formulaic structure, as an overly serious Leto is doing the opposite of Tom Hardy’s campy Venom schtick that so many adore. It’s a choice that promotes Morbius’ moral conundrum as a self-conscious vampire over anything considered “superhero cinema fun,” taking everything deathly serious to an ultimate detriment.
