Gifts for father
An insulated travel mug

Even when he's on-the-go dad's favorite beverage can stay hot or cold for hours. The Travel Mug keeps both hot and cold drinks at enjoyable temperatures for hours longer than the competition, and its lockable lid ensures it's truly leak-proof. We even named it the best travel mug.
A leather iPhone wallet case

Get dad a protective and stylish case for his iPhone that can also double as a handy wallet for storing cards. You can even get personalized with dad's initials for an extra special touch. The case is available for iPhones ranging from the 6S to the 12 Pro Max.
A heated massager to melt the day away
Photo Amazon |
After a long day, all Dad wants is some true relaxation to melt away the tension that's built up. While he can't get a real massage every day, you can give him this at-home shiatsu massager, which can give a quality massage for much less.
A mask fit for athletes
If Dad loves his fitness routine but is often frustrated by working out with a mask on, the Sportsmask is a useful solution. This mask from Under Armour was specifically designed for high activity, and its water resistance, breathability, and UPF 50+ sun protection all lend well to making his workout routine more comfortable.
A personalized video from his favorite star
Photo Cameo |
You can choose from thousands of actors, athletes, and musicians and get dad a personalized video message from his favorite star. For a gift that also gives back, search for celebrities donating some of the proceeds to charity. Or, opt for a funny and festive option like a Buddy the Elf impersonator. You can read our full breakdown of Cameo here.
A game he can enjoy with the whole family
Photo businessinsider |
A fun combo of horseshoes, bocce ball, and bowling, this lawn game will give dad the gift of quality family bonding time when you all play together. Plus, the carrying case means he can bring it with him to backyard BBQs, beach outings, camping trips, or tailgating parties.

List of presents we suggest for grandfather
For the grandpa who's always ready for a good story: Audible
Photo usatoday |
Books on tape have come a long way. In fact, they haven’t really been on tape for a while—now, they’re streamable, thanks to services such as Audible, which has instant access to thousands of audiobooks, podcasts and more from a smartphone or tablet. If this sounds like something a grandpa you know could get into, consider giving him Audible Plus—for one month, three months, six months or a year—which offers unlimited access to Audible's streaming catalog and one credit each month to purchase an audiobook to hold onto forever.
With this gift, he can listen to his favorite books wherever he is and whatever he’s doing, whether he’s puttering around the house or taking a walk.
For the grandpa who wants to find his roots: AncestryDNA kit
Photo usatoday |
Does Grandpa frequently regale you with tales of how his people have Italian roots? Or how you’re distantly related to George Washington, according to his great-uncle Rodney? Well now’s the time to find out for sure. Help him figure his family roots once and for all with an AncestryDNA kit. We tried AncestryDNA and loved how detailed the ethnicity breakdowns were, which can help provide context for those old family tales.
For the grandpa who likes to sleep in his chair: Our favorite weighted blankets
Weighted blankets make great gifts this season, and our favorite is the Gravity Blanket. This cozy blanket is perfect for the grandpa who loves sitting on his favorite chair and watching his shows (or, perhaps, dozing off).
For a less pricey option, we also love the YnM weighted blanket. It conforms to the body nicely without feeling suffocating and is thinner than other weighted blankets—though no less effective—so it's easy to store when not in use.
For the grandpa who wants to walk comfortably: A pair of reliable Crocs
Photo crocs |
Crocs remain popular for many reasons. They’re comfy and they make great shoes for both indoor and outdoor use. Whether Grandpa likes to walk around the block or adventure by the creek, Crocs make a versatile shoe he can put to good use. Plus, there are a bunch of different styles and colors of Crocs, which means you can customize based on your grandfather’s tastes.
For the grandpa who can’t get enough ‘Star Wars’: A Disney+ subscription
Grandpa doesn’t need to dust off his VHS copies of the original trilogy to enjoy “Star Wars” in his own home. With a Disney+ subscription, he can not only watch “Star Wars” with the click of a button, but he can stream just about every Disney movie under the sun. It’s great for him and great for the grandkids—watch him light up as he claims the title of “Best Grandparent of the Year” for turning on “Frozen.”
For the grandpa who’s always misplacing his keys: Tile Mate
Photo usatoday |
Among wallets, keys, phones and more, there’s a lot of stuff that people might lose track of around the house. Help Grandpa make finding his things easier with a Tile Mate tracker. To use it, attach the small device to whatever it is that's always getting lost. When it’s misplaced, go into the Tile app on a smartphone or a desktop and signal an alarm to find anything within 200 feet of the device. If it’s the phone that can’t be found, just press a button on the tile and it will make the phone ring, even if it’s on silent.
5 INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES FOR FATHER’S DAY“A father is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.” – Unknown “Any man can be a father, it takes someone special to be a Dad.” – Anne Geddes “My Father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived and let me watch him do it.” – Clarence Budington Kelland “Dads are most ordinary men turned by love into heroes, adventurers, story-tellers, and singers of song.” – Pam Brown “A Father is someone you look up to no matter how tall you grow.” – Unknown |
HISTORY OF FATHER'S DAYFar from a “Hallmark holiday,” Father’s Day has its origins in medieval Europe, when Catholics dedicated a day to honoring fathers, fatherhood, and all paternal relationships. Fast forward a couple hundred years, and it’s now a holiday held all over the world — a testament to how important fathers and father figures are in societies everywhere. However, be careful. The date fluctuates around the world. In Spain, for example, it’s held on March 19, while in New Zealand, it’s the first Sunday in September. Keep this in mind if you’re traveling, or have family living overseas. There are few things more upsetting than a disappointed dad. Father’s Day in America has a rich history dating back to the turn of the 20thcentury. But to really understand Father’s Day we must go back to the post-civil war reconstruction era of the 1860s and a day that celebrates the other half of the parenting duo, mothers. The idea of celebrating parents has its roots in one woman: Ann Reeves Jarvis. Shortly after the Civil War, Jarvis sought to soothe the wounds created over four years of bitter conflict in one divided West Virginia town by choosing a day to celebrate mothers of both confederate and Union soldiers. Known as “Mother’s Work Days” Jarvis hoped that during the newly installed era of peace and reconciliation that previous enemies could begin to sow unity again by celebrating one thing they all had in common. BY THE NUMBERS$14 billion – the money spent on Father’s Day gifts in America in 2016. 34% – the percentage of Father’s Day shoppers who buy their dad a gift online. $160 – the amount millennials spent on average on Father’s Day gifts in 2015. $17 billion – the spending on Father’s Day in 2020. 75% – the percentage of people who celebrated Father’s Day in 2020. 37% – the percentage of dads who say they want gift cards for Father’s Day. 87 million – the number of greeting cards sold for Father’s Day. |
