The blaze broke out around 9:20 a.m. in a stall set up within the park, located on West 40th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
The blaze came about a week-and-a-half after another fire ignited a swath of Herald Square’s festive shopping corridor on Broadway between West 35th and West 36th Streets.
After electrical wiring caused a fire at the Herald Square Holiday Market on December 16, this is the second holiday market fire of the season.

As of now, no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. This incident occurred roughly a week and a half after another fire broke out along Broadway’s festive Herald Square shopping corridor, destroying 18 shops selling goods such as bratwurst, glass ornaments, and T-shirts.
Footage from the Midtown Manhattan park shows firefighters arriving at the scene as rows of holiday market stalls burned, with thick smoke rising from the site. Additional videos captured the extent of the fire as plumes of black smoke billowed above the city.
The location, which is adjacent to the New York Public Library and blocks away from the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center, was visible in other footage as massive, dense plumes of black smoke rose from the site.
