Croatia vs Czech Republic: Predictions

It was hardly a breeze for Croatia in their qualification campaign for Euro 2020. But this side stacked with talented players did well to get over their World Cup disappointments and get the job done. They secured five wins and two draws from eight matches in a group that contained the Euro 2016 semi-finalists Wales.

It wasn’t the worst draw for Czech Republic in Qualification Group A but they got the job done. They finished second behind England and were the only side to beat Gareth Southgate’s men in the group. Still, they produced some impressive results including two 3-0 victories over Montenegro to secure their spot in the tournament.

There will be more than a little déjà vu when Croatia and Czech Republic face off in this group match. The last time these two countries played one another was back in Euro 2016. They were drawn in Group D and drew 2-2 after a late penalty from the Czech forward Tomas Necid.

They were the only two goals Czech Republic scored and the only point they won as they headed home in bottom place of Group D. Croatia were knocked out by the eventual winners, Portugal and both sides will be aiming for a better showing in this tournament.

Croatia vs Czech Republic: Betting tips

Naturally, the World Cup finalists are the favourites for this one. Croatia are 10/11 with Czech Republic out at 13/5. These two countries have produced a total of 12 goals in the 3 matches they’ve played against one another. Over 3.5 goals is a decent punt at 7/2 if you think that will continue.
