England vs Denmark predictions ahead of this Euro 2020 semi-final. Can England book their place in the final?
*England have won four of their five games at Euro 2020
*The Three Lions haven’t conceded a goal at this tournament
*Home advantage can take England through
All four sides who made the Euro 2020 final enjoyed home advantage for all three games in the group stage. However, England have the added bonus of playing three of their four potential knockout games at Wembley. They will have 60,000 fans cheering them on this week, evening out the fact that Denmark are clearly the neutral’s favourite.
*Back to basics for England
England fans had a perfect Saturday night as England scored early against Ukraine and they looked good for a win after Harry Kane’s opener. However, this Denmark side are a much sterner test for Southgate’s men.
Denmark have lost twice at this tournament and both of those defeats have been by a single goal.
We’re backing England to claim a 2-0 win, continuing their excellent defensive record having kept nine clean sheets in their last 10 matches.
*Kane in flying form
Kane has been fantastic for the Three Lions across the last game and a bit. He improved late on against Germany and he blew away Ukraine with two goals. We know that the Tottenham man is a player who enjoys a purple patch and he’s likely to build on this fine record.
Kane is also one to push for individual honours, having won the 2018 World Cup golden boot. He’s two shy of the top of the scoring charts and he’s the most likely player left who can bridge that gap. Kane has scored 37 times for England in 59 appearances and with that track record and his current form he’s our anytime goalscorer prediction.
England eliminated Ukraine in the quarterfinals, beating the rivals with 4-0. So that is yet another clean sheet for Gareth Southgate‘s boys. They are by far the best defense in the entire tournament, without a single goal conceded.
They would keep the net intact for the seventh straight match, the ninth in the past 11 games. But that is Southgate’s strategy, defense first, and after that counter-attacks.
One by one, the Croats, Scots, Czechs, Germans and at last Ukrainians couldn’t beat Pickford, who was masterful with his teammates in the backline. In the meantime, Harry Kane woke up, scoring three goals during the knockout stage, showing his class when needed the most. He tied with Raheem Sterling, who also has three goals each.
Denmark solved the Czech Republic without too many problems, 2-1, and even though the Czechs had the initiative in the second half, the Danes would rebuff their attacks without any problems. Their mentality in those stressful situations is extremely resistant, which is one of the biggest reasons for entering the top four
Kjaer and the boys have four straight matches with over 2.5 goals, and three of them during that span ended with both teams netting, which wasn’t that frequent before the start of EURO 2020.
So far, there aren’t any injured nor suspended players in either team.
Christian Eriksen’s situation is already known, and he is long gone from the Danish protocol
Gareth Southgate has named his final 26-man squad and preparations will be the winner at Euro 2020's final match in Wembley stadium, London, in July 11.
