The 93rd Oscar nominations have finally been announced, recognizing films released during a year where movie theaters were largely closed. If you’re looking to catch up on all of the nominees, we’ve compiled a list of every film that was nominated for an Academy Award this year and where to stream them.
Competing for best picture are “Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Mank,” “Minari,” “Nomadland,” “Promising Young Woman,” “Sound of Metal,” “The Father” and “The Trial of the Chicago 7.”
The Oscars will be broadcast live on April 25 on ABC. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the only people who will be allowed to attend the event will be the nominees, their guests and the ceremony’s presenters.
Mank tells the story of the classic film Citizen Kane and how it came to be. The movie takes place in 1930s Hollywood, when screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz fights to finish his work on Citizen Kane. The film stars Gary Oldman as Mankiewicz, along with Amanda Seyfried as Marion Davies, Lily Collins as Rita Alexander, and Tom Burke as Orson Welles.
Mank is a Netflix film, so you’ll only find it on Netflix. The drama is available exclusively on the streaming service, and it’s available to watch right now. To watch Mank, you’ll need a subscription to Netflix. If you’ve already got one, just open the Netflix app or website and search for Mank, click play, and you’re good to go. If you don’t have a subscription to Netflix, you can sign up for one for as little as $8.99 per month for the basic plan, or up to $17.99 for a premium plan. Right now, Netflix does not offer free trials, but you can cancel at any time.
"Nomadland" is directed by Chloé Zhao, who won best director at the Golden Globes. Zhao's win made her the first person of Asian descent to take home the honor of best director and the second woman to ever win the award.
"Nomadland" is now available to stream exclusively on Hulu. The movie premiered on February 19. You can get access to Hulu for $6 per month with its basic, ad-supported plan.

The Trial of the Chicago 7
The Trial of the Chicago 7 is based on a true story—a true story that's currently repeating itself. "I never wanted the film to be about 1968," Aaron Sorkin, the film's writer and director, told the Hollywood Reporter. "I never wanted it to be an exercise in nostalgia or a history lesson. I wanted it to be about today. But I never imagined that today would get so much like 1968."
Is it on a streaming service? Yes, The Trial of the Chicago 7 was released on Netflix on October 16.
Is it available to rent? No, The Trial of the Chicago 7 is not available to rent; it's only on Netflix.
